  10. Here`s what has changed since the last release:
  11.  
  12.   · Updated English and German AmigaGuide® documents
  13.   · Updated Russian catalog
  14.   · Updated German catalog
  15.   · Updated catalog translation and description
  16.   · Added DELAY tooltype which delays the installation a bit
  17.   · Localized some internal requesters (requested by Herve Dupont)
  18.   · Fixed some problems that occured with the SCRIPT tooltype
  19.   · Directory size is now calculated correctly
  20.   · Commodore Installer displays now the correct path in the end message
  21.     (reported by Michael Luense)
  22.   · Fixed a bug that caused the update function to do not work

  25. If you still don`t know, what NewInstaller is, here`s the
  26. description:
  27.  
  28. There are many Software Packages on Aminet without any
  29. Installer although Commodore developed the Installer
  30. tool which provides a easy-to-use graphical user interface
  31. with powerful functions.
  32.  
  33. But many people complained that they were too lazy or it
  34. would be too hard to create a script for the Commodore
  35. Installer.
  36.  
  37. This time is over now. NewInstaller allows everyone to
  38. include a script in his Software Package for the famous Commodore
  39. Installer. But no - you need not to edit it - NewInstaller does
  40. all automatically. 
  41.  
  42. The only thing you need to do is including an install icon
  43. in your Software Package with default tool NewInstaller.
  44. Additionally you can change some things in the Tooltypes.
  45.  
  46. NewInstaller is fully integrated into Internet. You only
  47. need to add a tooltype and the user can online register your program
  48. if he wants. Or add an other tooltype and the user can visit
  49. your homepage immediately.

  51. But there`s more: NewInstaller can make the installation of your
  52. program to a great Multimedia event. It can display different pictures,
  53. play samples and modules. It even doesn`t matter if the installation
  54. is running on AGA/ECS/OCS/Gfx boards...It will always look as good as
  55. possible. Pictures are remapped and resized to the current screen
  56. definitions!

  58. NewInstaller is an intelligent program with powerful
  59. features. Here are some:

  61. * fully integrated into Internet (Online Registration, 
  62.   WWW visits....)
  63.  
  64. * Graphics can be used (with remapping to WB colors
  65.   and resizing to WB resolution). Compatible with
  66.   ECS/OCS/AGA and Gfx boards!

  68. * Sounds can be used
  69.  
  70. * Multi language: Your Installer appears in the user`s mother tongue
  71.                   because of the locale.library support and the more
  72.                   than 15 supplied catalogs

  74. * Update function: NewInstaller keeps every Software installed with
  75.                    full path and version in mind

  77. * UnInstall function: Just add one tooltype and the user will be asked
  78.                       if an UnInstall script shall be created

  80. * Intelligent handling: If no name, author and version specified in
  81.                         the Tooltypes NewInstaller tries to figure them out

  83. * Recognizing of many types: NewInstaller recognizes many filetypes.
  84.                              For example: Executables, docs, libs, fonts,
  85.                              ARexx scripts, MUI files, Prefs....
  86.                              So if there is a Fonts drawer for example
  87.                              NewInstaller will tell the user that
  88.                              the program needs XXX.font in FONTS: and so on...

  90. * Assign support: You can specify assigns in the Tooltypes which
  91.                   shall be added in S:User-Startup

  93. * Unarchive support: LHA and LZX archives will be unarchived and the user
  94.                      can select the files from the archive he wants. This
  95.                      option can be turned off in the Tooltypes.
  96.                      Then the archives will only be copied

  98. * Confirm all operations: NewInstaller tells the user every operation before
  99.                           he does it so the user has to confirm the operation
  100.                           or skip it !. This can be turned off in the
  101.                           Tooltypes

  103. That were only some of NewInstaller`s powerful features. Many things can be
  104. changed in the Tooltypes.

  106. I decided to release NewInstaller as Shareware. The registration fee
  107. is 10 DM ($7 US-Dollar) via email or 15 DM ($12 US-Dollar) via post.
